another week of blizzards...

Hello everyone! Well this week consisted of a whole lot of work cycles, art and movement room free play. I am sure you have all noticed that this winter has been brutal and all the Hummingbirds seem to have a bit of cabin fever. We are getting creative in the classroom trying to keep everyone happy and entertained, without bursting at the seams. Hopefully we will be able to venture out and get some much needed fresh air when we return to school.

Owen is completing the land, sea and air work during workcycle earlier this week.

Ms. Eman came by during circle on Tuesday and taught us all how to care for our new classroom plant!

After a full day with no exercise Ms. Mariya got creative and played some Bulgarian movement games
with the Hummingbirds.

This is Ms. Monique playing along!

Valentine making!

Friday morning workcycle was surprisingly peaceful

At the end of the day the Hummingbirds passed out their Valentines and ate chocolate chip cookies that Chloe and her family made!

noodle soup!

On Friday Ms. Mariya lead a wonderful circle with the kids! She made, pretend asian noodle soup and they loved it! As they were rolling out the dough and cutting the noodles and mixing the vegetables they kept saying, "I'm so excited to try it!" Although it was completely made out of paper :)

After circle we realized how great this would be to keep on the shelf to help with fine motor development. We will keep it on our practical life shelf as part of our Asia study for the rest of the month!
